Croatia Sends Striker Home
After reports that the Ac Milan striker had refused to come off the bench on Saturday against Nigeria, he will not take part in the tournament moving forward.
Croatia has sent Nikola Kalinic home from the world cup, due to a back problem.
the head coach Zlatko Dalic confirmed this when speaking to a specially arranged news conference that Kilanic would depart Croatia's team due to recurring back spams and not based on any disciplinary measures
Dalic in his statement mentioned that, Kalinic was supposed to come on in the second half against Nigeria, but later complained about his back ans that he wasn't ready to play.
"The same thing happened during Brazil friendly in England as well as before the practice session on sunday he added, and i have calmly accepted that, and since i need my players fit and ready to play, i have to make this decision"
His absence means Croatia lacks a specialist alternative to Mario Mandzukic.
Croatia would be back in action as they take on Argentina in the Nizhny Novgorod on Thursday.
